Gary Douglas Taylor

Gary was born in South Shields in 1963 and continued to live there until the age of 5 when he moved to Rowlands Gill. He attended the Royal Grammar School in Newcastle from age 11 to 18, which was followed by 3 years gaining a BA. (Hons) Accountancy at the University of Northumbria.

In 1984 he left University and started work at Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants also in Newcastle, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989, and was advanced to a Fellow (FCA) in 1999. Since 1989 he has had various jobs in the Accountancy Profession in the Public and Private sectors and Financial Services and has also run a small Accountancy Company since 1999.
He has been an active Free Mason since 1984 when his Father initiated him into his Lodge, Wrekendike No. 6401 in South Shields, which sadly no longer exists. In the next year he joined the Chapter and this sparked an interest in all aspects of Free Masonry. Gary is now a member of a number of Masonic orders, including the Royal and Select into which he was chosen in 1998, becoming TIM of Ravensworth Council No 44 in 2005 and serving 2 consecutive years in that position. Gary was elected as the District Grand Treasurer in 2007 and achieved PAGDC Grand Rank in 2013. Gary has gained a great deal of enjoyment from the Royal and Select Masters and this has greatly contributed to extending his Masonic knowledge.
