Anthony Russell Davis
Tony was born in Gateshead in 1945 and attended Gateshead Grammar School. Being self-taught on ukulele and guitar since juniors, he became lead guitarist in a local band just before leaving school and this band continued for some years afterwards. After Grammar school and Art College he worked for a local photographic firm contracted to BBC Newcastle studios where he processed news and interviews filmed to go on the six o'clock regional programme.
He retired many years ago but still keeps in touch with the business and is a lifetime member of Equity. Married to Anne since 1985, together they formed and registered the “Ashfordly” line of grey Fell Ponies and to date still have one “home bred pony”
Followed his father, uncle and grandfather into Shipcote Lodge 3626 in 1974, wrote and delivered Masonic talks extensively in Northumberland, eventually achieving the triple – Northumbrian Past Masters Lodge (Craft), Northumbrian First Principals Chapter and Adoniram (the Past Mark Masters Lodge) all in the same year! He is a member of many Orders and has gained high rank in all of them.
In the Royal and Select Masters he received Degrees of Royal Master, Select Master and Super Excellent Master all on the same evening in the Land o'Cakes Cryptic Council, No. 15 Scottish Constitution, January 1994 Received the Most Excellent Master degree (not worked in Scotland) in an English Council in September 1994, thereby being eligible to be a founder of Hexhamshire Council 193 (N/land). TIM 2000, 2007 & 2014; Silver Trowel in 2010. Recognised as an Excellent Master in England in 2014 (having taken the Degree in Scotland in 1992). Invested as Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in Grand Council in April 2016.Founding Recorder and first IPM of William Gillhespy Council 319 (2014).
Founding Recorder and first IPM of Prince Bishop Council 329 (2016), installed TIM 2017.
